NATA Exam 2024: The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), conducted by Council of Architecture (COA), a Common Aptitude Test in Architecture, at national level to provide a single window system for appearing in aptitude test and to facilitate institutions, students and public at large for admission to First year of 5 year B.Arch Degree Course at all recognized Institutions all over country.

NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e., Architecture, through assessment of cognitive skills, visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity tests, logical reasoning and critical thinking ability, etc., besides the learning that the candidate has acquired over the past years.

NATA Exam 2024 Important Dates

The organization conducts exam every year for the process of making young Architect by the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e., Architecture, through assessment of cognitive skills, visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity tests, logical reasoning and critical thinking ability, etc., besides the learning that the candidate has acquired over the past years.

The NATA conducts the exam twice every year in the month of April and month of June in two sessions.

Appearing in second or third test is not mandatory and is purely at the discretion of the applicants. Candidates can register themselves for one test or maximum of three Tests in one academic year by filling in the application form appropriately. And, Application is to be filled up ONLINE at the NATA portal of www.nata.in.

NATA Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are interested in writing NATA Exam 2024 can appear for the exam but before that the most important thing is to check Eligibility Criteria, so that it will be easy for all to learn whether they can appear in the selection process or not.

Here the eligibility criteria for the NATA exam in detail as follow:

  • No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless he/she has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50 per cent and Aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50 per cent.
  • marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 per cent. marks in aggregate.

Follow the steps given below to Apply Online:

  • Go to the website of NATA i.e., www.nata.in
  • From the home page click on the link to registration available on the website.
  • Make your registration valid by verifying it through the your Email or mobile number.
  • Go to the login link and insert registered details to access the online form.
  • Recheck all filled details and click on the submit button.
  • Pay fees through any of the convenient payment methods.

NOTE:

  • The applicant’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth (as per Class – 10 records) and postal address taken together must be unique for each application.
  • A SECURITY QUESTION AND ANSWER will be captured from the candidate by the system at this stage. Candidate has to remember this question-answer pair for prompt retrieval of password in case it is forgotten at later stage.

NOTE:

  • The Application Fee shall be non-refundable in all cases.
  • The candidates initially opting for single/ two tests may further opt for additional test at a later stage, not exceeding three attempts. However, in such case no concession in fees would be offered.
  • Multiple Application Forms submitted by the same candidate by changing the credentials will be rejected without any refund. The Council reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against such candidates.

NATA Exam 2024 Required Documents:

Upload legible scanned images of:

(i) a recent photograph (file size 4Kb – 200Kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background;

(ii) candidate‟s signature (file size: 1kb – 30kb)

NATA Exam 2024 Paper Pattern

The NATA Exam will be a pen- paper test and a computer based test with a total of 200 marks divided in 2 parts i.e., Part- A and Part- B. Where Part is a pen- paper exam i.e., offline exam and Part- B is going to be online exam. The medium of Aptitude test shall be in English and Hindi.

Part A – Drawing and Composition Test – Offline Test – 90 Minutes

  • A1 – 1 Question – Composition and Color -25 Marks
  • A2 – 1 Question – Sketching & Composition (Black and White)- 25 Marks
  • A3 – 1 Question – 3D Composition – 30 Marks
  • Total 3 Questions – 80 Marks

Part B – MCQ – Computer based online Test – 90 Minutes

  • B1 – 30 questions x 2 Marks – 60 Marks
  • B2 – 15 questions x 4 Marks -60 Marks
  • Total 45 Questions – 120 Marks

PART-A

Drawing and Composition Test

This is one and half hour (90 minutes) – 80 Marks Test where candidate has to attempt three questions. The content of the PART A Test is as follows:

  • A1 – Composition and Color -25 Marks: Creating suitable compositions for various situations and coloring them appropriately. Re-arranging various shapes in visually appealing manner and coloring it suitably.
  • A2 -Sketching & Composition (Black and White)-25 Marks: Ability to draw, visualize, depict a situation, involving buildings / its components, people, environment, products with an understanding of scale, proportions, textures, shades and shadow etc.
  • A3 – 3D Composition-30 Marks: Creating interesting 3D composition for the given situation using the provided kit.

PART-B

This is one and half hour (90 minutes), 120 Marks Test where candidate has to appear for online test. It shall have two type of Questions viz., B1 – 30 Questions of 2 Marks and B2 – 15 Questions of 4 Marks from the following topics:

  • Visual Reasoning Ability to understand and reconstruct 2D and 3D composition, knowledge about its composition and technical concepts.
  • Logical Derivation Ability to decode a situation, composition, context and generate meaning. Understanding the minute information hidden in a particular situation and drawing conclusions.
  • G.K., Architecture & Design General awareness of architecture and design, current issues, recent episodes etc., Knowledge about important buildings, historical progression, innovation in materials and construction technology.
  • Language Interpretation Ability to correctly & logically generate meaning of words, sentences, understanding about English grammar.
  • Design Sensitivity Ability to observe record and analyze, people, space, product, environment. Critical thinking, reasoning and ability to identify the subtle communications.
  • Design Thinking Ability to understand semantics, metaphors, problem identification and definition, analysis of a given situation.
  • Numerical Ability Basic Mathematics and its association with creative thinking. To unfold a space with use of geometry.
