Lok Sabha Internship 2024

The Lok Sabha Internship 2024 will be conducted for three months. Three month internship:

Eligibility Criteria

Three Month Internship

• The internship will be open to Indian citizen between 21 and 30 years of age as on closing date of application. Provided that they have outstanding academic records in disciplines such as social science, science languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management etc.
• Candidate must have completed 2 years of Post-Graduate degree.
• In exceptional circumstances, the Internship Committee may also allow students who are pursuing doctoral study to undergo internship.
• The applicant should submit a ‘Recommendation Letter’ from the Principal of College/ Head of the Institution/ Registrar & Head of Departments he/she last attended or is enrolled in to pursue higher studies along with the completed application form.
• The applicant should get the permission from the competent authorities of the concerned educational institutions that the student’s joining the Lok Sabha Internship Programme will not hamper his/her studies/will not cause any loss to such Institutions in any way.
• The applicant must also submit a brief but very clear Statement in 250 words which should inter alia state why he/she intends to join the Internship Programme; his/her career goals; and how the Internship will help him/her in achieving those goals.
• An incomplete application shall be rejected.

One Month Internship

• The age of the candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 30 years as on closing date of application.
• The applicant should be a student pursuing graduation/post graduation in disciplines such as social sciences, science, languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management, etc.
• The applicant should submit a ‘Recommendation Letter’ from the Principal of College/Head of the Institution/Registrar & Head of Departments he/she last attended or is enrolled in to pursue higher studies along with the completed application form.
• The applicant should get permission from the competent authorities of the concerned educational institutions that the student’s joining the

Reservation For Candidates Belonging To ST, SC, OBC and Divyang

• Reservation of Internship positions belonging to the categories of SC, ST, OBC and Divyang shall be made as per the extant policy.
• Candidates belonging to the above categories should attach the requisite certificate issued by the Competent Authority in support of their claim. Besides, it will be the Secretariat’s endeavour to give representation to candidates from all regions of the country.

Stipend And Other Facility

• In case of the three-months’ Internship, the Intern will be paid an amount of Rs. 20,000/- (Rs. Twenty Thousand only) per month. A sum of Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand only) meant for stationery and typing expenses may be granted as one-time expenditure during the last month of the Internship to facilitate the completion of the project.
• In case of the one month Internship, the Intern will be paid a lump sum amount of Rs. 25,000/- (Rs.20,000/- as a stipend and Rs.5,000/- for stationery and typing expenses).
• The Lok Sabha Secretariat will not provide any accommodation/ transport facilities to the Intern and the intern may have to make her/ his own arrangements for accommodation/ transport during the term of the Internship Programme.
• The selected Interns will have to sign an Undertaking containing conditions of the internship. The Lok Sabha Secretariat shall have the right to cancel the Internship awarded to any Intern, without stating any reason, during the course of the Internship at any point of time.
• The Lok Sabha Secretariat shall award a Certificate to the Interns on the successful completion of the Internship Programme.

Lok Sabha Internship Stipend

• The selected candidate will get a stipend amount for the internship Rs. 20,000/-

Lok Sabha Internship Dates & Duration

Duration of Internship- The selected candidate will get a paid internship for the three months of duration. At the completion of the three months of the internship program, they will be awarded a certificate of the internship.
