JOSAA 1st Round Allotment 2020The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the JOSAA Allotment 2020 through its official portal for the academic year 2020. Through the seat allocation process, seats will be offered to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs which are the participating institutes.

Therefore all the eligible candidates will be called for JEE Main Counselling where the candidates will be provided their seat on merit basis. The admission in NITs is provided on the basis of JEE Advanced, while admission in IITs, IIEST is offered on the basis of JEE Main. Therefore through the counselling session, candidates are provided their seat as per their preference via JoSAA (JEE Mains) Seat Allotment 2020 process.

JEE Main Counselling 2020

The joint counselling and seat allotment of JEE Main 2020 will be conducted in online mode. The authority has released JOSAA Mock Seat Allocation 2020, through which candidates can have an idea about the seat allotment process. All the eligible candidates whose name appears in merit list must attend JOSAA Counselling Procedure, where seats will be offered to them on the basis of preference and marks secured by them JEE Mains and Advance.

All the eligible candidates who meet the JOSAA Cut Off 2020 must further attend the JOSAA JEE Counselling where the candidates will be allotted their seats. The JOSAA Seat Allocation process includes a number of subsequent steps such as registration, choice filling etc and therefore seats are allotted on the following basis:

  • As per rank of the candidate
  • The category of candidate to which he/ she belongs
  • Seat availability
  • Order of academic program which the candidate chooses.

JOSAA Seat Allotment Procedure

The JOSAA Seat allotment process includes a number of rounds which are discussed below.

  • Registration

The applicants appearing for counselling have to go through JOSAA Counselling Registration process. Candidates must login to the account created on the official website with the same credentials provided at the time of JEE Main 2020 Registration.

  • Choice Filling

The JOSAA Choice Filling process will start from June 2020, where candidates can mark their choice of course and institute as per preference.

  • Display of 1st mock allocation list

Before the first round of counselling, the authority will display JOSAA MOCK Seat Allotment list, through which candidates can have an idea about the seat matrix distribution

  • Display of 2nd mock allocation list

Another mock allocation list will be released on 23 rd June where the seat matrix varies. In this list candidates can check their rank and both college and course will vary here. Therefore through this list applicants can get an approximate idea of college they will be allotted to.

  • JOSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment

Josaa will declare its first seat allotment list in June 2020, which will display the list of eligible candidates as per availability and rank. The candidates must attend the JOSAA round 1 counselling and go through every process and confirm their seat.

  • JOSAA Round 2 Seat Allotment

All the leftover seat will be displayed in the 2nd counselling list and therefore candidates must attend JOSAA Round 2 and carry out document verification process along with the related process.

  • JOSAA Round 3 Seat Allotment

On the basis of a vacant seat, third list will be released and therefore candidates will be provided the seat through JOSAA 3rd Round.

  • JOSAA Round 4 Seat Allotment

The complete list of seats which are filled will be displayed and therefore candidates on the waiting list must apply for admission through 4th round. The remaining candidates will be allocated seat through next round

  • JOSAA Round 5 Seat Allotment

The fifth round seat allocation will be done in July. Any candidate who wants to reject or withdraw their seat must do it on that day itself and the remaining seats will be displayed in July.

  • JOSAA Round 6 Seat Allotment

Candidates eligible for admission will be allocated seats in July and a very limit time exist here to accept or withdraw a seat i.e this must be done in July 2020.

  • JOSAA Round 7 Seat Allotment

On 18th July the complete list of seat filled and remaining seats will be displayed and JOSAA Spot Round will begin in the same day itself, where candidates can choose their preferred college or choice. Therefore applicants must report to allotted institute next day and confirm their seat.
