CMI BSc Admission 2024: CMI stands for Chennai Mathematical Institute, a centre of excellence for teaching and research in the mathematical sciences. It was founded as a part of the SPIC Science Foundation, funded by the SPIC group in Chennai and then it has been an autonomous institution.
Today, CMI is a rare example of public-private partnership in research and education in India, managed by a Governing Council consisting of eminent persons. The Institute receives major private funding, side by side with substantial financial support from the Government of India.
The institute offers courses in Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics from BSc to PhD. Every year the institute conducts separate exam for admission in different courses. Candidates can apply for CMI BSc 2024 through “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted and Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted.
You need not choose between BSc (Hons.) Mathematics and Computer Science and BSc (Hons.) Mathematics and Physics at the time of applying. The choice can be made after admission.
CMI BSc Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who are interested in writing CMI BSc Entrance Exam 2024 can appear for the exam but before that the most important thing is to check Eligibility Criteria, so that it will be easy for all to learn whether they can appear in the selection process or not.
- There is a common entrance examination for both the BSc (Hons.) programmes. You need not select your course at the time of applying. The choice can be made after admission.

Direct admission to BSc through Olympiads: Through the National Olympiads in Mathematics and Physics conducted by HBSCE and the Indian Computing Olympiad conducted by IARCS are exempted from writing the BSc entrance examination.
For direct admission:
- Students who have qualified for the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) or European Girls Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (EGMOOTC) in Class 11 or Class 12.
- Students who have qualified for the Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in Physics in Class 11 or Class 12.
- Students who have qualified for the International Olympiad in Informatics Training Camp (IOITC), or have received a gold or silver medal at the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI) in Class 11 or Class 12.
CMI BSc 2024 Fees and scholarships:

CMI BSc 2024 Application Fee:
The application fee is Rs 1000.

(i) a recent photograph (file size 10Kb – 200Kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background;
(ii) candidate‟s signature (file size: 4kb – 30kb)
